Sterling was born and raised in Connecticut before proudly becoming a Charlotte transplant. Unlike most, she knew she wanted to practice law early in childhood, having a family of multiple attorneys.
Prior to joining Costner Law, Sterling practiced commercial real estate and banking law at a boutique law firm in Charlotte before working in-house as Transaction Counsel for a large, global REIT. When out of the office, she enjoys traveling with friends and family and adventuring throughout the Queen City with her husband, Will, and their three dogs (Jericho, Beacon and Cava).
Sterling graduated from North Carolina State University (Go Pack!) with a B.A. in Political Science and completed her education at Charlotte School of Law where she graduated with a J.D. in the top 20% of her class. Sterling is a proud member of the North Carolina State Bar, Mecklenburg County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division and the Charlotte chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW Charlotte).
